After Hurricane Irma

Report Date: October 4, 2017

The water is cleaning up nicely after hurricane Irma decided to come up our coast. Lots of bait pushed back in causing other species to follow. There are lots of Spanish mackerel feeding on the schools of threadfins. Placing your baits into the schools of bait getting crushed, will get you hooked up quick! As the fish know, there's something different about yours on the hook. Using long shank J hooks can give you a better chance of landing these fish as they have razor sharp teeth!

The redfish bite has been best on the incoming tides. Shrimp and greenies has been the go-to. Snook are still swimming around the beaches, but some are pushing towards the backcountry areas as they get ready to hold over freshwater springs in the winter to keep their body temperatures regulated. Cobia have been on some stingrays and markers. Pinfish, greenbacks and rubber eels will defiantly get their attention.

Tight Lines,
